Robin McCoy, Director of Culinary Programs and Executive Pastry Chef at Oak Grove Culinary Creations is a self- taught inspiring dessert artist with a nation of sweet creativity. Born and raised in the Midwest, Robin’s skills were developing while working at T.J.’s restaurant, their family-owned neighborhood restaurant in Gary, IN. When Robin relocated from the Midwest to California in 2003, she decided to put her passion for cooking and her knowledge of the restaurant business to work. Robin launched her catering business “Robin’s Nest Desserts and Catering in San Diego in 2004. Soon after opening the catering company, Robin was featured in “San Diego Bride and Groom Magazine, Spring 2006” as a featured wedding cake designer. In 2011, after earning her Master’s Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Public Administration, Robin decided to open a very trendy, “sweet” Dessert Bistro in Old Town Temecula. After opening this location, Robin desserts have been featured in Neighbors Newspaper, Press Enterprise; Temecula Valley Best Magazine and countless other media platforms. Robin has baked for a variety of local restaurants and specialty shops including Baily’s Old Town, Heart of the House Restaurant, Temecula Lavender Co, Temecula Olive Oil Company and Old Town Spice and Tea Merchants. Robin innovate sweetness to parts unknown and bakes to her own impeccable taste by combining flavors in appealing ways as well as pairing organic herbs in her sweet creations. One of several of those sweet creations is the Lemon-Lavender Bar which is still a favorite dessert item. In 2013 Robin started using her delight of baking to teach foster care and at-risk youth at Oak Grove Center. Now we see the progression of this delight as she facilitates the culinary program at Oak Grove Culinary Creations. Robin is most pleased when she sees young lives transform through the art of cooking. In September of 2019, Robin was featured in San Diego Voyager as “San Diego Most Inspiring Stories” and also in 2019 Oak Grove Culinary Creations was awarded “The Champion of Culinary” by Visit Temecula Southern California Wine Country.
